Search For The Family Of Walter Norman Welton. World War 1 Hero.

A Memory of Wallington.

At Bandon Hill Primary School in Wallington we have a plaque to commemorate the death of one of our teachers in WW1. Walter Norman Welton was killed on 26th June 1916 in France and this year will be the One Hundredth Anniversary of his death.

Does anyone remember his wife Alice who lived in the area until her death in 1960, she taught at Bandon Hill School as well and then later at High View School. Their son Norman (named after his father) was born locally in 1915 and may have lived in the area for a good few years.

The School would love to hear from anyone who has any information about the family including any photographs.

Walter Norman Welton was my great grandfather. I have a photo of him and another of his wife, Alice and his son, Norman Welton born 31 May 1916, whom Walter presumably never met.
