A Memory of Wallyford.

My name is Christopher Gillan lived in Fa,side Ave North. I delivered the papers up there for years 1964 ish I used to drop in at my house and read all the comics before I delivered them, my dad was always telling people are waiting on there papers in one ear oot the other.
I went to Wallyford boxing club and played fitba for Musselburgh Windsor for a couple of years.
Best childhood memories was playing up the bing and the castle.The green valley was also a great adventure .

Blast from the past! Hija Kiffy. When I was in Scotland last year someone told me about a Wallyford Facebook page that had loads of people on it. Googled it and this came up. Doesn't seem to have many members though. Have to try and find out which one Christine Donaldson and her daughter were talking about. The bing and the Castle......remember the night the police arrived? Had some laughs there. Can still remember the bang on the head I got from falling down the chimney in the castle. Can't remember the green valley?

The Green Valley was up past Carberry, quite a distance to go. It was very popular with boys in the Springtime. My wee brother used to bring back loads of frogspawn, newts and mating toads. Disgusting!!
