More about this scene

Whalley is a very ancient town and steeped in history. The Abbey was begun in the 12th century, and its ruins (seen here ivy-covered, as they used to be) have been a place to visit for over three hundred years. The church at Whalley is equally interesting, and it has a St Cuthbert Cross in the churchyard.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

Mrs Feldwick was my aunt and from what know from my mother she was the housekeeper.i
Does anyone remember the big house on Church Brow called Cooper Hill? It was supposed to be haunted and it looked really scary, although a lady called Mrs Feldwick and her daughter Janet lived there quite happily.
I'm only a soft southener, but my several times great-grandparents were from 'up north' in cotton, my great-grandmother married a vicar in Dorchester, in the 1890s, had 8 kids. Can anybody tell me anything about the Rodgetts or Bashalls? Thanks
