More about this scene
The Hants and Sussex coach is parked outside Hill House, a former solicitor's home until it became a café restaurant in 1898. In 1950 the premises were run by Ted Bowmaster and his brother, and was known locally as Ted's Café. Notice the sister in her habit, strolling downhill on the right. She was probably from the town's Community of St Denys.
