More about this scene

Warnham parish lies mainly on Wealden clay about 2 miles north-west of Horsham. During the medieval period it was undoubtedly extensively wooded, and its name possibly means 'the grazing place of feral stallions'. It is thought that the name 'Friday Street' may record a distinct area of settlement. Note the old well to the left.
