Warrington, Marshall Gardens c.1960

More about this scene
Sun worshippers in Marshall Gardens turn their backs on landmarks which will soon disappear. The two towers of Howley Power Station had dominated the landscape since the extensions of 1946, but the site had supplied Warrington's electricity since 1900. To its left is the bulk of Manchester and District Farmers Ltd, who were millers and cattle food dealers.
