More about this scene
A guidebook in 1795 described Weobley as having 'a few small streets meanly constructed, without either market or traffic'. Certainly by the early 19th century this was a village in decline. As it turned out this was rather fortunate, because lack of money to rebuild or alter its buildings is one of the reasons Weobley is such an attractive place today.
