This view shows the esplanade (left of centre) and the twin piers protecting the channel into Bridport Harbour (right). Looking eastwards from the cliffs above Black Rock. The largest building, hip-roofed and dating from the late 19th century, is Pier Terrace (left of centre). Built as apartments, it is alternatively known as Noah's Ark. Note the derrick and cranes on the piers.

My Family moved in to N0 9 East Cliff in 1960, we moved from an old cottage across the beach where I was born in 1955. The cottage was demolished & some Garages were built in the place of the two cottages. Many people may remember Clifford Samways ran a successful fresh fish business from those garages.
