West Witton, The Duck Pond 1911

More about this scene
The stream ran down from Pen Hill through this pond to provide motive power for the corn mill over the road and below the Heifer Inn. When the mill was demolished the pond was filled in and grassed over for use as the village green - a generous act by two local benefactors. On the left is the old wool store and barn.
