Growing Up In Westhoughton
A Memory of Westhoughton.
I was actually born at Wingates in 1939,..but we moved to Chequerbent soon after and lived there untill i was 9yrs old,we then moved to Westhoughton,62 townsfield rd,..I had two sisters Joan and Betty
( sadly lost my youngest sister Betty last year). my maiden name was Hastie.
we spent many happy hours growing up,surrounded by fields in those days, sadly nearly all those fields have now got houses on them...
Westhoughton was a good place to grow up in,and i treasure my memories. We seemed to have so much more freedom than children have today.
I now live in Cheshire, but still think of Westhoughton as "Home"..
Barbara.Leece nee Hastie.
