More about this scene

known as Limes Parade, built in 1910. Some of the lime trees have also gone; but now seats have been provided so that townsfolk can enjoy the area, and there are innovations in the form of a telephone kiosk and a pillar box. Burden and Parker, the Murphy television and radio dealers on the right, also indicates the modern means of entertainment and communication; Humphris, near right, was a jewellers.

Limes Road
I was 4 when this was taken and lived in Limes Road (the turning off to the right in this photo! Whenever I go back, everything seems so small!!

Happy Days!
I used to work for Burden and Parker in Church Street as a radio and television engineer from 1963 to 1966 and remember walking past these shops twice a day to the cafe just around the corner for our tea breaks.

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
