Just sufficiently sheltered from the cruel east wind, the plants here flourished, and the parks department of the local council were rightly proud of the attractive way in which they bloomed throughout the holiday season in these and other flowerbeds along West Cliff. Today, I am sorry to say, this is a favourite site for skateboarders.
