Little Shop Near School
A Memory of Whitegate.
The first time I walked into the little shop nearest to our school reminds me of something out of a Charles Dickinson's novel the little bell tingling as you opened the shop door and a little lady behind the counter serving, we would spend 6p of our pocket money on sweets then walk back to school a long country lane picking damsons along the hedgerows.
Sundays some of us would go to morning service at church rest of us had to go on a hike through Delemere Forest which I enjoyed.
