Martin Camp School

A Memory of Whitegate.

I was there from 1957-1958 at Lindisfarne Dorm. We all got on very well, had some good fun and laughs together. I loved my art class and spent a lot of time painting and drawing often making birthday cards for my friends. I also remember the table tennis and the swimming pool - the cold water never seemed to bother us then. The long walk into Whitegate to visit church on a Sunday. The cross country runs when we would often hide behind the hedge and sunbathe. We would count the days to the holidays and travel home on the train to the Central. Mam said she could hear us coming over the Tyne Bridge shouting and singing. Yes! Those were special days. Tess Morgan (nee Theresa Wood) known as Terry.
