More about this scene
The first shop on the left is the newsagent, and next to it is the Co-op. Today both these shops are as they were, except that the newsagent no longer sells bicycles. The Square remains unchanged but for the removal of the lamp-post and the bus shelter. Behind The Old Tea House (centre right), which is still trading, is a hardware shop. At Christmas there is carol singing in the Square.
