More about this scene

Haigh Hall was designed by the twenty-fourth Earl of Crawford for himself and built at a cost of £100,000 between c1832 and 1840. Stone for the building was cut on site by machinery brought to the estate by way of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. The timber came from the Haigh and from Crawford's estates in Jamaica.
