Asquith Road Wigmore.
A Memory of Wigmore.
I moved to wigmore in 1950 from liss in Hampshire . I was 4 years old and started school at the camp school off the maidstone road . I remember outside the main canteen was a large fish pond and all our classrooms were large huts.from the age of 11 I went to secondary school in orchard street Rainham and from there went on to fort pitt tech in Rochester.when I was at home we lived in a road opposite what was known as the den, which is where parkwood estate now is.It was all trees and led to a large grass field which in turn you could walk to rainham as we did sometimes on a sunday.Life was so easy and carefree then and we had a freedom that kids don't know what its like any more . I hope someone else remembers the world of my childhood.Anyone else remember the 61 club in st matthews church hall???
