More about this scene

Here we see a fine example of a white weatherboarded Kentish smock mill with a two-storey square brick base and wooden staging for access to the sails. It is powered by four patent shuttered sails and winded by a fantail. Dated 1869, it worked to 1938. It is now restored to full working order and is open to visitors.

Lacton Hall
I used to live in Lacton Hall as a boy back in the days, early 1970's. I was a resident of the Caldecott Community of which Lacton Hall was an annex. I remember creasoting the fences in this picture for 3 old pence per fence which was awesome pocket money at the time..

105 The Street
I have no memories of Willesborough as I visited it for the first time on 26.8.08. My reason for visiting was that I was trying to find where my grandparents once lived, and surprise surprise it's still there, 105 The Street. Their names were Thomas Alfred Barton and his second wife Flossie May Foster. This was Thomas's second wife, his first wife Kate Elizabeth Butcher was my mother's mother, her name was ...see more

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
