More about this scene
The Victorians built the mock-Tudor school building in 1849-51 to replace an 18th-century schoolroom. It remained the main building of Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School until the early 1970s, when staff and pupils migrated to the new comprehensive school in the former Secondary Modern School buildings at Pamphill. The royal name went with them.
