More about this scene
This view was taken looking across White Cross Bay to the northern end of the lake. On the shore to the right a factory for the construction of Sunderland flying boats was established during the Second World War. The site is now a caravan park. The 1881 Census recorded Thomas Walker, whose name is painted on the boat, as a boat builder, resident at Crown Villas, Bowness.
