More about this scene

St Oswald's Church sits on a slight rise. A local legend says that the people planned to build it on lower land, but each night, after work, a pig came along and moved all the stones back up to the top of the hill. They therefore understood that they were being told to build on the hill, and that is why the church is there. A carving of a pig on the building reminds us of the story.
