Within the park is the memorial column dedicated to Richard Young (1809-71), a local shipping magnate, Member of Parliament, five times Mayor of Wisbech and Sheriff of London and Middlesex. Designed by J Wallis Chapman, of London, it was inaugurated on 31 October 1872, and cost around £300.On 11 December 1883, the memorial column was blown over during a gale but was quickly rebuilt, with some modifications. The drinking fountain and enclosed garden have since been removed.

Royal Standard
I used to live in the Royal Standard pub as a child on Elm road when we moved in a car come straight through the window cannot believe it's now a funeral home

The Nene Inn
My grandfather ran the Nene Inn for Elgoods brewery around 1900 to 1914. My father was born there in 1903. Pubs long gone but Elgoods let me have the original name plate .

Just to let everyone know that the factory is still canning peas and other vegetables but is owned by Princes. The factory has totally changed but the original offices that face onto Ly nn Road are still there. John

Memories Of Trafalgar Row
I enjoyed seeing the photo graphs of the Wisbech canal and especially those showing Trafalgar Row and the river bank with English Brothers wood yard and a coaster moored along side. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
