The delightful whitewashed parapets and the octagonal toll-house of the Bratch Locks. Nearby are the waterworks opened by Bilston's urban district council in 1896. The main building is complete with battlements and small turrets in each corner.

The first day of starting Ounsdale was terrifying, we had moved to the area the day before, no friends, new house, new area, new school but wished I could turn back time.
My name was the brunt of jokes especially for one student in my class and a neighbour and sadly no longer with us.
I have still have the 1971 photo remember sitting there while the photographer took so long to take the photograph, remember some of the teachers but headmaster Hoppo was scary!
I would dearly like to contact a good friend that I had at Ounsdale called Kevin Simcox (Oxo). If anyone has any idea where I can contact him please leave a message. He lived in Dickinson Road and had a sister whose name I can not remember.
Our first visit to Wombourne was an invitation from the Cashione family, Billy Buns Lane - we all met in France on holiday. Phylis had 3 daughters and was a widow; she was a lovely lady and have since lost all contact! 2 years ago I passed through Bratch lock on a canal boat with friends and decided to ring but no answer; the twin daughters and Debbie must all be married now but would love to be in touch - any ideas?
