More about this scene
The slopes below Banstead Wood make a fine vantage point above Outwood Lane meandering on its way towards Kingswood. Left of centre is the sprawling old house called Stagbury, a late 18th-century house demolished in the 1970s. Within the parish of Woodmansterne, it was home to the Walpole family, which has an impressive tombstone in St Margaret`s, Chipstead.
