Lovely Bread
A Memory of Worcester Park.
I lived in Worcester Park for the first 4 years of my life, and continued to visit for another 12 years after that... and when staying with my grandmother would be sent up the street to get the daily shopping which would usually include Morleys bakery for a ''small danish'' or at the weekend a ''large bloomer'' which was then wrapped in tissue paper, just as they still do at the bakeries in Greece!
4 years ago I was working in Kingston and traveled back to Worcester Park for a couple of nostalgic visits, and I think the only shop still in same place was the hardware shop at the bottom of the high street, where they still hung goods outside and had garden plants too. But, most of the main 1920s 1930s buildings are there including one which I was told my great grandmother lived in above one of the shops.
