Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Chrissies' Staff In The Early 50s

A Memory of Worcester.

Went there between 1953-56, prior to going to the Tech. As far as I recall, teachers there included Bourne( Head), Jenkins (Deputy), Court, Morgan, Davies,Hooper,Mclean, Jones,Houghton. I seem to remember that Mr Morgan collapsed and died during a staff v boys soccer match.

I have a photo somewhere of Eric Hooper's class of 53. Proud to say that I could name 40 out of the 42! All good guys to a man!

I was very interested in your memories of Chrissies; I went there from 1959 to 1963 (ours was the first time they added a fifth year). Some of the teachers names were familiar. Bourne was still head and "Jenko" deputy (he taught History; Eric "The Bopper" Hooper (Music) of course. Court rings a bell though I can't quite remember him. Davies taught PE along with Corbin; "Moaty" Jones, the Welshman who taught metalwork; Ron Houghton (Geography) who I believe was still teaching there well into the 1980s. Science was taught by "Jimbo" Griffiths - I don't know whether he was there in your day. Happy Days, for me anyway,.

Began teaching there to cover Eric Hooper's classes whilst he was ill and ended up staying for about 5 years. I loved teaching there and have fond memories of my colleagues and pupils.Would love to hear from who was there in 1970s. Became best friends with Eric Newman and Eric Hooper.(Sadly now passed away).
My nickname with many pupils was Suki Reynolds. Fantastic staff and pupils.

I remember suki Reynolds taking me for French lessons about 1971,farham for canoeing, bopper for music, basher briggs and dally for science,bob carter for maths then mr haughton,mr corbin for RE then mrs moore, harry nott for rs,mr clemence for English,mr jones for metalwork , didn't have newman for woodwork was other chap but forgot name.and art & craft was mr lane & another chap I forgot name. mr davies head & mr walters deputy. was lots more I forgot the names of over the years

1965 - 1970. Davies replaced by Bourne around 1966 and a ginger haired Welshman named Jones soon followed as deputy head. Powell was the other woodwork guy and Debeney the other metal basher. There was another Welshman names Jones who taught history and perhaps geography, as well but he was very into coaching rugby. He was a lovely chap. There was a teacher called, I think, East who wasn't there very long before he legged it with pupils deposits for a school trip. Gave us something to talk about as "they" tried to keep it quiet.How far did he think he could get? Sue Farrissey, AKA Suki Reynolds appeared around '67 would be my guess and I remember her. Better looking than Hooper, but that's just me. I have fond memories of my high school years and was able to recognize it at that time and say so.
