More about this scene
The trams have gone and already car traffic is burgeoning. The signpost on the right, pointing the way to Malvern, Leominster and Hereford, underlines The Cross's traditional role as the geographical and commercial centre of Worcester. A medieval cross stood here for centuries and an annual fair was held each September.
