More about this scene
This is all that remains of the Guesten House, built in 1320 for visitors to the monastery. By 1862 it was dilapidated and to save the expense of restoration and upkeep it was demolished, except for one wall, deliberately left as a 'picturesque' ruin. The roof was saved and can now be seen at Avoncroft Museum of Buildings, near Bromsgrove.
