Worthing, Children On The Sands 1906

More about this scene
That Worthing has a milder climate than its neighbours is shown by the large quantities of fruit and vegetables which it sends to Covent Garden. The sands are smooth and hard, and their condition during the summer months has been graphically described as one long mile of nursery. There are many people who prefer this watering-place to Brighton, on the grounds that it is quieter and far more economical to live in.
