Wrentham, Church Of St Nicholas c.1965

More about this scene
The church is to the west of the village, adjacent to the entrance to Wrentham Hall. Because of its high position, the tower was used as a government lookout and signal station in 1804, when Napoleon was expected to invade. The Celtic cross is the war memorial, erected by the Rev E R Yerburgh, on which the names are divided into Army and Navy personnel.
