Wroxham, The Broads 1902

More about this scene
This broad is almost a mile long, and at this part of it the dinghy passengers and the cattle are enjoying a quiet moment. The water is as smooth as glass, and the varied trees, the aquatic plants at the water's edge, and the reeds in the distance are a complete contrast to what goes on further down the broad at Wroxham bridge. Here there are fleets of cruisers, pleasure boats, racers, and even the wherries. Their crews or passengers arrive by car, coach or train, and the atmosphere is of gaiety and revelry with dialects from all corners of the country, and the sound of music from guitars, accordions and even banjos.
