More about this scene

The first of this row of Victorian cottages has the original name, Fern Cottage, painted on the glass fanlight. An ice-cream tricycle stands outside Row End (centre). The weather-boarded hut has had a variety of uses as a sweet, craft and gift shop. It is about to be demolished and a house built on the site. In the distance a lorry heads for the village, with more ease than today.

A Selection of Memories from Walberswick

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Walberswick

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

Walking with Bob my border collie through the salt marshes and dunes. Listening to the birds in the marshes and trying not to get lost! Keeping Bob away from people as he's a very cautious rescued border collie. The sense of peace whenever I have returned here. Now sadly without my dearest brave Bob but always remembered.
