Bug Alley

A Memory of West Thurrock.

I was born in No.5 Peaceful Row (Bug Alley) and remember it well, I left in 1953. We played on the meadow and in the railway sidings, the level crossing was replaced by the bridge and the Manor Way is now a dead end.

My Mum and Uncle were both born in Peaceful Row and my Aunt lived at 14, Manor Way in the 40’s through to the 60’s.
My Aunt’s house is believed to have been part of a larger house, possibly called Manorville. I have several family photos taken in front of a house with a balcony, which I believe to be this house.
