Park Cottages (Old Cottages)

A Memory of Westerham.

The bike outside no3 where my Nan and Granddad lived, belonged to my uncle he won a schoolarship to Sevenoaks School it would have been the only way to get to school. My other uncle worked in what was Fred Wood the grocers next to the old forge at the turning down to the old mill, my mother and aunt lived at no 3 as well.

I wonder if fred woods is part of my family, the woods family all lived in westerham, they lived at forge yard, florance wood and william wood and their children around 1911?
My uncle Ralph James Geal worked for Miss Woods for years until she shut the shop, he worked with a gent called Percy Cloake and bought my first bike from him for 10 shillings, sorry 50p, I am afraid I cant help with your relations regards Woods. I spent a lot of my childhood in and around Westerham and still have friends there and whenever the route takes me I drive through the village, I used to live at Moorhouse on a farm. Wonderful memories.
Forge yard would have been very close to the shop I remember going to the forge with my granddad. It was at the top of the lane that led down to the old mill.
