I was born at the maternity home high field road 1939
Lived in Elliott Street
As children we used to go up to
Pex Hill anyone remember that
I used to ride across the river with my Dad on the transporter and was scared it would drop in, but Dad said don't worry there is cork underneath it will float

I too was born at Maternity Home-Highfield Road in December 1941. The building is now Highfield Nursery Day School.
