A Memory of Wimbledon.

I went to a school in Queens Road called Hazelhurst, it was a private school, in 1949 until 1963 and then to Pitmans College in Russell Road. I lived in Wimbledon till 1967 and then moved to Crawley where I still live.

Hello Sonja, I was bought up in Wimbledon from 1946 -1965 when I got married and left. My parents lived on there to their life end, Hartfield Crescent till the 1970s. Surname Pope. My sister Eileen. 9 years older than me, went to Pitman College. I now live in Bracknell, Berkshire.
I lived in Craven Gardens and about the year 52 or 53 would walk down Queen's Road with my little dog to meet my mother coming from the station,
just as the girls were coming out of Hazelhurst and being surprised at their distinctive uniform and hat. Perhaps I should apologise, for a small boy gawking and a dog peeing up the wall. Do you remember the two steamrollers going back to the Corporation yard behind the ribbon of gardens before Ashcombe Road bridge? John Cochrane.
