Caption for Windsor, St George's Tower And Moat Garden 1914: The Moat Garden is the private garden of the Governor of the Castle. It is very well maintained and has been created in what remains of the original dry moat that surrounded the Round Tower. St George's Tower can be seen in the background.

These are the old terrace houses across from where my Dad was born. Shame they can't be revived for housing.

Can't recall if the "old girl" was still standing at the intersection of Castle Hill and Peascod St when I visited in 2010, but she stood there for a great many years.
