This view is taken from the southern end of Foregate Street, looking south along The Foregate and The Cross. On the left is the Hop Market, resplendent in red terracotta. Worcester's first hop market was established in 1731 on this site and became the largest in the country. In the 1890s it was replaced by this flamboyant structure.
