More about this scene
This 7-foot-tall inscribed stone stands on the B3269 road, and was moved to its present position from Castle Dore. It is reputed to be of the 6th century. Though the inscription is now too difficult to read, it was said to be ‘here lies Drustans, the son of Cunomorus’. Some believe that this refers to Sir Tristram of Lyonesse, who was immortalised in several medieval Arthurian romances.
