More about this scene
The long straight high street eventually opens up into the Friday market place. There are early 17th-century buildings here, which have been considerably altered over the centuries; these have had brick façades built over their front walls. A number of these houses have been converted into shops to cater for the visitors and pilgrims who flock to this town and visit the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.
