The printing and bookbinding business occupies the upper floors above W H Smith's and Greenwoods, a ladies' outfitters. Further down the street we can see the distinctive sign of the Bear Inn. This stands on the site of the White Bear, which was a busy coaching inn in the early 19th century with coaches travelling to London, Birmingham and Liverpool.
