More about this scene
Opened in 1914, the library was built with a donation from the Carnegie Trust. It also contained a small museum, and an art gallery was added later. In the centre we can see the Grapes public house, and to the right is the sign for the Sun Inn, behind which was a smithfield, or cattle market.
