Wandering through the old photos prompted a memory of the opening of the Boating Pond. What year was that? Does anyone remember the name of this hotel. I stayed there when I was doing a short course for a bank in 1967? Anyone remember staying there then. It had a very fancy name. 1945 As a boy of 15 and living in Banstead road carshalton Beeches, I had two friends named Raymond & Peter Colly, there father Mr Colly who was a clockMaker and was badley burnt in WW2. Teignmouth was a very different place then. You could use 2p's to go on the rides which used to be dotted a long the seafront, also there wre lots of boat trips you could go on. Even the train fare was cheaper, there used to be a row of houses by the train station before they built the Co-Op carpark.
