The foundation stone of All Saints' Church was laid on 18 July 1873 by Sir Roundell Palmer, afterwards the first Earl of Selbourne, the Lord Chancellor. It was consecrated 17 months later. A vestry was added in 1878, the tower, spire and three bells in 1891, and the clock two years later. The first vicar was the Rev Henry Floud.
