On the right we can see St Lawrence's Church. The house with its walled garden on the left is Culverton House. Built in about 1827 by Henry Blanckley Rogers, it was described as a 'most delightful residence' when he sold it in 1841. It also had the advantage of 'two votes for the country members, and there is a pew in the church'.
