More about this scene
Trinity Methodist church stands at the bottom end of Galgate, and was completed in 1894. Methodism came to the town during the 1740s and 1750s through the efforts of John Cheesborough and John Wesley. A meeting house was eventually established, and the first chapel was opened by Wesley himself in 1765.
