40 Sun Street

A Memory of Birkenhead.

My grandparents lived at number 40, as did my parents. I was born there in 1948.

I also lived at 40 Sun Street. We moved there in 1949/50 when I was about 4. My father bought the house. My brother Peter was born later on. I think we were the only people in the street with an indoor bathroom. I didnt like the cellar too much, it was creepy but my dad made it into his workshop. I went to Trinity Street School and then onto Conway Street Sec School. What memories do you have of Sun Street? I remember it as being a friendly community. The Deers, The Allsops, the Rhodes. We all played together all day and every day! Where did you go to after Sun Street? Regards Jean
