How to keep in touch with us.Frith photos on the BBC!
Published on January 28th, 2016
Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman is back this week with another series of "Holiday Of My Lifetime with Len Goodman" on BBC One. He travels with celebrities to revisit the places of their childhood holidays. We are excited that Frith's nostalgic photographs are featured once again across this series!
Here is a summary of the first week's 5 episodes, which air at 3.45pm on BBC One.
Episode 1
In Monday's episode Len Goodman travels with BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood to St Helier, Jersey, which Carol visited in 1973 as an 11-year-old. They tour the island's war tunnels and the zoo and meet the winner of the Battle of the Flowers parade from the year of her stay.
Episode 2
In Tuesday's episode Len travels with his Strictly pal Anton Du Beke to Blackpool - in a vintage coach, similar to the one Anton would have taken on the journey from Sevenoaks in 1981 for a dancing competition. The pair tuck into the food Anton loved from back in the day, take a ride on the vintage Blackpool trams, and visit the Winter Gardens, amusement arcades and of course Blackpool Tower.
This photo of Sevenoaks is featured in episode 2. The scene from the 1960's features the mock-timbered frontage of the Holmsdale pub, with its coat of arms suspended beneath the Watney's Red Barrel advertising emblem, adjoins the similarly sham premises of Freeman, Hardy and Willis's shoe shop. On the right-hand side, Timothy White's chemist's shop boasts a cast-iron canopy over its entrance.
Episode 3
On Wednesday we see Len and TV presenter and former footballer Dion Dublin travelling to Great Yarmouth. Driving a 1970s Morris Marina Coupe, similar to the one Dion travelled in from Leicester to the seaside in 1979, they begin by visiting the caravan park where Dion stayed as a boy.
Episode 4
In Thursday's episode Len travels with TV presenter and actress Lisa Riley to Haworth, West Yorkshire, which Lisa used to visit with her mother. The pair visit the Bronte museum, take high tea in a café just like the one Lisa visited back in 1992, and take a trip on a steam train.
Episode 5
Len travels with former EastEnders actor Pam St Clement to Dartmoor in Devon to relive a holiday that Pam took in 1953 that changed her life. Pam travelled alone from her boarding school to a farm in Dartmoor to visit two ladies who became like an extended family for her.
