St Joseph's Church has served the Catholic community in Blundellsands since the building was consecrated in 1874. In this very settled community, very little has happened during the past forty years to change the appearance of either the building or its surroundings. In common with many other villages in the area, the incorporation of the word 'Blundell' into the place name is a reminder of the extent of the Blundell family's influence during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Time Stands Still.
I WROTE THE MEMORY ABOUT THE BONFIRE ETC , IN 2011 AND HAVE JUST LOOKED AT IT AGAIN 7 YEARS LATER.IT JOGGED SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED TO ME RECENTLY, THROUGH THE INTERNET I HAVE JUST RECONNECTED WITH MY CLOSEST FRIEND DEREK AUSTIN !!AFTER 60 ODD YEARS OF NOT SEEING OR SPEAKING TO HIM.WHEN WE MET IN THE ENDBUTT HOTEL ,IT WAS JUST LIKE THE LATE 1950'S. The Coastguards Cottages
I remember the coastguards cotteges at the bottom of Mariner's Road. They were on my way to school. When they were demolished, I was about seven years of age and my friends and i would play in the foundations which were there for some time. Blundellsands To Ince Blundell
As a child I can remember cycling from Oxford Road, Waterloo to Blundellsands. I then went via what was I think Dibbs Lane leading to Little Crosby where I can remember watching the fields being ploughed using Shire horses. Turner Family
My mother recalls the relative Cyril, Percy and Dolly. I think the surname is Turner. Does anyone know anything about this family?

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
