Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

The urns have been removed from the parapet, and a new doorway inserted since 1898. Everard's Commercial Hotel is to the left, and in the distance is the earlier Corn Exchange of 1836. To the right is the cupola of Cupola House. In the foreground Charles Tozer, house decorator, of Orchard Street, is at work on the present Saffron Laundry. Just out of the picture is the Nutshell, reputed to be the smallest pub in England.

Silver Jubilee School
I attended the Silver Jubilee School in Grove Rd. from 1966, when I failed my 11 plus! to about 1971. I have mixed memories about the school, but the music department saved me, and many other aspiring musicians under the great guidance of Mr. Lawford Smith. The Hole In The Wall
Way back in the 50's I had not been long in Bury where I had arrived to join the staff in the Borough Offices on Angel Hill. It was Armistice Day, and the Councillors and senior staff paraded to the Cathedral for a service..On the way we passed the two large guns of the Artillery paraded facing the Abbey Gate. Abeygate Street
In the 50's there was two way traffic in Abbeygate Street with T.H.Nice's Garage half way down with petrol pumps which swung over the road.I bought my first car, a prewar Ford 8 from him for £100,- which was the new price in 1938 !

1964 Life In Bury St. Edmunds.
I married and moved to Bury St. Edmunds Suffolk in 1964. Lived for a while on Caravan site in Chedburgh, then moved to the caravan site in Eastgate Street. Worked for Childs Bakery, based at lower end of St. Adrews St. as a bread roundsman, driving a morris 1000 van. I then went to Betabake as a rounds man. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
